antique shop reccomendations?
I recently moved back to Orlando with my fiancee, unfortunately things did not work out as planned and we went our separate ways.I have a beautiful engagement ring set that I need to sell to pay off some debts and get my life moving again. its an antique my aunt and uncle in New York acquired at an estate sale.I had it apparaised at around $1400.00 I really would love it to go to someone whom would appreciate its value, so I'm asking if anyone here has any experience with antique shops as opposed to pawn shops. any hints tips or allegations to help me make the most from what i have? any reccomendations on antique shops or pawn shops in the area that are willing to offer a fair price for it?

Housemate needed
Really hitting up all possible options here (exclamation point).

I need a housemate to rent a room in a 3/2 house in the Dean Rd. area.  Rent would be about $300 to $400.

I don't smoke, drink or do drugs.  I like to collect books and records and ride my bike.  I attend UCF.

(I've written so many ads by now I'm trying to conserve my words.)

Send me your details at bamcquern_at_yahoo_dot_com, or in this forum.

Environmental Event
Hi all! I just wanted to give people in the central Florida area a heads up about a cool event that's going to be happening at the University of Central Florida. If this violates any of this community's guidelines, please feel free to let me know. Thanks!

Here's the info:

In February, Power Shift 09 brought 12,000 young people to Washington to hold our elected officials accountable for rebuilding our economy and reclaiming our future through bold climate and clean energy policy.

As an attendee, I can say it was an amazing experience to see so many young people come together for climate change.

This week, Power Shift '09 is coming to Florida and 5 other regions across the country.

Hundreds of activists from all backgrounds working to bring about a better future will come together to discuss the global environmental challenges we face and the actions we can take to solve these issues.

The conference will engage attendees in two days of workshops, panel discussions, trainings and lobbying activities. The Energy Action Coalition includes 50 leading climate, energy and social justice organizations.

The cost is only 20 bucks.

Here are the details for Florida Power Shift:

Power Shift Florida
Friday October 23 - Sunday October 25

UCF Arena
University of Central Florida
50 North Gemini Blvd
Orlando, FL 32816

Click here to sign up for Power Shift Florida.

If you're no longer in Florida, you can find a Power Shift near you at: http://www.powershift09.org/Regional

Thanks so much!

Roommate Needed
Hi everyone. I have a spare bedroom with bathroom in nice 2/2 apartment near UCF and VCC East that I need to fill. The lease starts at the beginning of October, but I'd let you move in pretty much anytime in September without paying any of September's rent. See more information about the room in my post on craigslist. Thank you!

Roommate wanted
I'm helping a friend of mine look for a roommate. There are two UCF students and one Valencia student living in the townhouse, along with a friendly and lovable black lab. It's really close to UCF, which would be good for a UCF student, anyone making the transition from Valencia to UCF or taking classes at both colleges, or if you need to be near UCF for any reason.

1 bedroom available in 4 bed, 2 1/2 bath Hawthorne Glen Townhouse. Roommates (1 female, 2 male) are clean and friendly. 1 black lab dog in residence. Female roommate preferred but male roommates considered.

First month's rent and security deposit (equal to one month's rent) required for lease signing. Move in August 1.

Utilities included in rent: Water and Sewage, Electric, Garbage Pick-Up, Cable, High-Speed Internet

· Built in 2006
· Community Pool
· Walking/Biking distance to UCF
· All stainless steel appliances
· Washer and Dryer
· Patio with view of pond

VERY Pet-Friendly Apartments?
My fiancé are moving at the end of the month and need to find a place still! We had a place all picked out, but that all fell apart when they learned about our pets. The cat is fine, but we have 5 rats and a bunny. It's very hard to find out if places will accept the caged pets online, because we've had places that say "Pet Friendly" tell us no. We're emailing and calling around, but some word of mouth helps too.

So, please comment if you know a place that accepts small caged pets, especially rats and rabbits. That is priority number one, but getting more specific, we're looking for a 1 bedroom around $700-$900 a month. If it has a W/D in unit or at least connections, that's icing on the cake.

Apartments, houses for rent, rented condos...we just really need to find a place! Thanks for any help.
